PAINTING TAN LEATHER SEATS??

i have a pair of tan leather seats laying around. it looks like someone tried to paint them black. at this point i have nothing to lose. the seats were 40 bucks. the leather is good but the color sux. any help would be great. thanks..........and no im not throwing them away.lol

for 40 bucks it was worth it. im sure there are leather dyes out there that would do wonders. the seats are flawless. if not, oh well. 40 bucks is not alot. thought it would make a cool diy. thanks

Go to your nearest automotive paint jobber. There is a product by SEM especially for what you are wanting. I can't remember the exact name. It comes in both rattle can and sprayable quarts for use with a paint gun. I used the sprayable dye with a paint gun. It was inexpensive and turned out beautifully. Go to http://www.swegyptian.com to see the results. I dyed his entire interior except the seats (he has racing buckets) and it's holding up very well. It should work on the seats just fine.
A guy I know also used it to dye the center portions of his leather seats in his Vette and it's held up for over three years no problems.
