Default A Question About These Pistons.....

Someone on in my town are sellilng these Arias 84mm 12.1.1 Pistons and Eagle Rods for $250.... yea that price is insane so here is a pic.....

I kno both retail for about 750 shipped so are these in good condition? Would the black carbon on top cause anything to go bad in the motor?

If i was to put these in my b20 would i have to hone the block? Thanks

price sounds good as long as the pistons measure out to be good. also you would need to buy a new set of rings for them. no sense in using old rings.

take the pistons/rods to a machine shop and have them quickly measure them to make sure they are still usable.

the black carbon on the top is normal.....it will not cause any problems.

ya, the pistons skirts dont look too good, if you can take a fingernail and feel the scratches id consider the pistons to be junk

Yeah, I'd pass. Scored pistons, that much mileage, eh. You could potentially be asking for trouble.

Looks scored to me as well. Someone has 4 new ashtrays. Hell, I'd buy them and shitcan the pistons and get new rods.

id buy them for just the rods. rods alone are worth 250 imo.
