why not? Because they don't help anything. Incase they don't know, the cover cover vents they don't take in air.

All they do is allow oil/fuel vapors to be dumped into the atmosphere rather than back into the car's PCV system. If you have one, you will notice small amounts of the vapor forming on the hood over time.

can't you just route a tube from the cover to a catch can? i know there's another can with a hole to feed oil back into the crankcase somewhere between the intake manifold and the crankcase (sits behind the engine). it acts like a catch can. unfortunately, the IM is still super dirty with grease and oil which leads me to wonder if catch cans really do work or not? i really want to keep my intake super grease free. is there something I can do?

it does nothing for performance, and looks hurting, AND messes up your engine bay with oily vapours. Personally id never use one, but to each his own i guess. this piece should fall under the category of RICE.... IMO

i can understand the use of them...why route nasty gasses back into the IM? make no sense...but if it is routed that way by the factory, it must serve a purpose.
