Default Knock Sensor on b18c1

I have a JDM GSR swap. The knock sensor went bad and is giving me a CEL. I am currently waiting for a replacement. My question is does the stock ECU pull timing and run a conservative map when this code pops up?

On an unrelated topic I am looking to get rid of the cheap plastic shift ****. Will any year Civic Si leather shift **** snap right on?

I dont know if it runs a conservative map, but i thought it messed with the ignition and possibly fuel tables to reduce the knock.
