Default Radio problem

Heres the problem: when i turn up the volume all the way up in my car sometimes the sound just turns off and i have to turn the radio off and then back on. I dont have any expensive speakers just some cheap ones that came with a stereo system. does any one know why thats happening?

Maybe loose ground, pull the radio and check the wires.

Sounds like the radio is going into "protect" mode. Usually caused by either excessive gain/volume, or a wire that has a short in it going to the speakers. Try disconnecting one speaker at a time and see if you notice it stop doing it when one of them is disconnected. If it does, whichever speaker you have unhooked is the culprit, and you'll need to trace the complete wiring to it and find the short.

Good luck.
