well you explained your problem and all i can do is confirm it.... yes there are 2 bolts under the intake manifold that hold it to the brace.... they are a BITCH!!! and no there is no secret easy way of doing it....some people do it with hella extensions from under the car... and some do it by reaching blind both ways work..... niether is easy...

also if you dropped a valve whats the point of pulling just the head?

Maybe it's salvageable if you have all the domes resufaced to the same compression otherwise the head is pretty screwed.

I doubt you can save the head. I think I see pieces of the valve seat missing, along with deep pock marks from the valve, which means you'd probably have to weld in some filler. Still gotta worry about stress cracks, milling the head for a flat gasket surface. Good luck.

that would be one hell of a head job to redo that head, imo its not worth it, buy a used head, put aftermarket springs in, cams etc.

but good luck

Im going to have to agree, take out what you can then throw the head casting in the garbage or take it to a scrap yard and try to get some dollars for the metal.

i saw a guy selling a head on here somewhere. I suggest you buy it. The cost of repaing and then the headache of knowing "what If" will make me buy a new/used one.
