Is cam timing a problem for a 0.065" headgasket?
I'm installing a new cometic 0.065" headgasket in my gsr and I've read in a few places reducing or increasing the size of the headgasket throws off the cam timing. I know a 0.065" is pretty thick so any ideas if i will have timing issues. And If I do is adjustable cam gears the only way to solve this? Since it's cam timing I assume tuning doesn't mean anything. Thanks

If they are stock, you should line the crank up at EXACT tdc and use the drift pin holes above the cylinder #2 cam rails and align the cams at exact tdc. then put the belt on accordingly if you have to move the cam gear then do so.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Your cam timing will be advanced by approximately 3 degrees because of the gasket, so to compensate you'll want to retard your cam sprockets by 3 degrees.
