replacing upper ball joints?
on an ek are the ball joints pressed out of the control arm or does the arm come in one assembly. the reason is cuz i got a used set up skunk2 camber kit and the ball joints are bad and if i could replace the ball joints it would be about better than buying a whole new setup
Replace it with a new Pro Series Top Plate and Ball joint. It is cheaper.

Althought the "all one assembly" statement is true as far as honda says. Napa and maybe some other auto parts stores sell upper ball joints for civics. I have a 98 civic with an ingalls adjustable upper control arm, the ball joint is pressed into a plate and the plate is bolted on with 4 bolts. So when i looked up a replacement ball joint from honda it showed only the whole upper control arm assy. So for the hell of it I called Napa and they had them, they were $20 each. I bought them removed the old ones, pressed in the new ones and installed the c-clip. So OP before you order new upper control arms, check to see if a local auto parts store has the ball joints and replace them.

do you need to get the ball joints professionally pressed onto the upper control arm? Or can you do yourself? I'll be replacing my skunk2 ball joints and need to know if i can do it myself. All it should be is just unbolting allen screws, taking out the old ball joints and putting the new ones in right?

I've replaced an Ingalls ball joint before. Just go to AutoZone and rent the Ball Joint Press. That's how I did mine. As for the stock arms/ball joints. Everytime mine go bad, I just buy some used OEM upper control arms in the classified section and swap the entire arm out.

Disconnect the ball joint from the knuckle first.
Try to mark where the ball joint was set
Unscrew the 4 allen bolts and swap out the ball joint with a new skunk2 piece.
Have your car aligned to ensure proper camber and toe is set.

Those work for OEM arms, I agree. The OP and bmoua were specifically referring to Skunk2 camber arms.
