Default Transmission Removal

I'm a newbie on removing a manual transmission to replace a blown throwout bearing and the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel while I'm in there, i followed the service manual and followed a topic: DIY/How to: Tranny Removal by Ricey McRicerton which i found in NEW FAQ'S INDEX - '92-'00 Civic / Del Sol, what i don't understand is why do i have to remove the left driveshaft and intermediate shaft when everything is on the right side of the vehicle, if there is an easier way to remove this could some one suggest a way or possible detailed pics better than the Tranny removal Topic? Thanks its greatly appreciated!

Because the shafts go inside the tranny, its what put the power from the tranny to the wheels. Justs undo the tie-rod and upper control arm, let that assmebly lean over and pop em out.

it's easier to remove the lower ball joint.

I assembled a transmission, removed my transmission, installed newly assembled transmission in 6 hours today
