if you're really going to be swapping out your b16(which i wouldn't do), then i'd def. not want any smoke coming from it. Don't take the guys word for it. YOu're going to run into problems.

Ever considering boosting your Em1 since it's already got the b16?

see if the guy isn't running a cat
if its a straight pipe it's not uncommon to see some smoke, but it usually isn't anything bad.

do you know this person?
might just be trying to pawn off his thrashed upon motor on you.

^^^^^Both very good answers.

VTEC motors smoke a little in VTEC, it's common. But, to me the entire deal sounds iffy.

i have owned and still currently have it fbp si, 2 ebp si, 2 mr si, 97 gsr. only one of them startes to smoke me. it wasnt a right engine. it was a b18c1 swap into one of the ebp si and the motor came from a wrecked gsr. the pistons rings was bad. other than that none of them smoke on me.

lol you'll have problems with the ITR engine that smokes in VTEC, but you wont have any problems turboing the stock B16A?? Cmon now.

What color is the smoke? It could just be a puff of richness. It could also just be carbon coming off the exhaust. How much smoke? Pretty much any motor will burn a LITTLE bit of oil at 6k-9k RPM. Especially motors like the C5 with oil squirters on the bottom of the pistons. Find out more info about the smoke.

he posted his car+swap OR shell OR swap for sale
he selling a car with the swap(im dont want to put his name out)
he had couple threads for the whole car. the first 2 he mention that it smokes a while back. not that long ago. he posted up a new thread and didnt mention anything. at the same time he posted up the swap for sale and also did not mention anything
