1990 Accord - wiper fluid motor not working
hello, did a search on wiper fluid motor not working, could not find anything. soooooooo...... I checked the fuse first thing, and its not blown. I am not sure if theres a relay in the circuit either.... if there is, which one is it? And if the relay is not bad, i'd probably assume the motor went bad.
If the motor is bad, would is be easier to just replace the whole bottle or just the motor itself? I haven't dug too much underneath the car to see what kind of a job it would be
-Thanks
Andrew

well whenever there is a switch or relay in question the first thing I always do is grab a multimeter and check if there is voltage past the switch or relay. That will isolate a problem pretty quick. If you have voltage past the switch before the motor you can bet that your motor is bad and that it needs to be replaced. This of course has to be checked when the switch is engaged so you'll need a buddy.
If you don't have a multimeter as most people don't tend to you can buy a cheapy one for less than 10 bucks that will tell you what you need to know. It's definitely a good tool to have around.

thats way nicer than the one I have.
Before you replace the motor make sure that the tube isn't clogged by trying to blow air through it with either a compressor or your mouth if you're poor.

to see if motor is bad u can also just take the short rubber hosing off that connects the line from the hood to the rest of the system, then hit the squirts and if fluid is coming out at a good rate, then whats happening is that when u close your hood the short rubbing hose is ceasing, stopping the flow of wiper fluid.
That's what was wrong with mine, and its pretty typical with 90-93 accords. 2 second fix, cost nothing

the motor does not run when i pull the lever back on the steering column. so, I did use a multimeter and started nosing around and finally traced a corroded wire near the motor. spliced it out, and done.
