Default 99' LX Accord E-Brake Handle Cover ....clueless and lost here.[pics inside]

So i man handle the cover wont come off so i go crazy and hack saw and channel lock it to death.

I got this ractive aftermarket cover for it but the ractive is 100% cylinder shaped round as can be.

The handle after i yanked all the stuff off has a groove alot the bottom of the handle the red arrow in the pic points right at it. So it makes the shape of the handle definately not round.

FtW am i doing wrong?
Sorry bout crappy pics took them at 2 am.. meh! any help is apperciated.

first of all you are using cheap ebay ebrake handles.
if you want some nice ones that will acutally fit and work right you need to get the more expensive ones like these:
