Alright guys, i have a 92 civic hatch i bought, and with it cam a nice set of 13 vx rims!, they were a lil scuffed up, so i decided to paint them. My friend gave me the idea of tryin to make them like itr rims, so that what im shootin for. Check out my project too if you get a chance! My project!

<u>Items</u>
2 cans of aircraft remover
600 grit sandpaper
1200 grit sandpaper
Masking tape
Scratch repair pen, or model paint and brush (for H)
4 spray cans of your choice color(i used rostoleum)
you can find all this at wal-mart, i think i spent about $50 and it took me 2 days!


<u>Hot to!!</u>
1 remove center caps
2 spray rims with plenty of aircraft remover
3 water rims down dry them


4 sand rims down with 600 grit, then 1200 grit
5 tape up tires and valves( tape wont stick if tires have that shiny stuff on, of if theres still water stuck in the crack, so clean well and let it dry well!)
6 spray 3 light coats (moving fast)
7 spray 4 heavy coats (movine slower)
8 Let rims dry


9 sand caps down and paint them
10 with the scrath pen/model paint, you can paint the h, your choice on what else you wanna do to these

 

added a red lip ... still debatin if i should keep it or lose it. what yall think??

do you wanna see the hxs painted white? haha i have 2 sets of vx, 1 set of hx, and 2 exra hx rims ... half are painted white, the other half previous owner tried to paint them. if anyone wants to buy a set of vx rims lmk! ... the strippper didnt do anything to the valve or tires, work hella good too!!

i was plannin to use hx rims on the rear, and vx rims on the front, since its a smaller rotation and to get the slammed look. I already have the radial for the vxs, just gotta buy some good tires for the hxs, but ill post pics of the hx rims painted later on

painted the hx rims white and threw them on the back ... then the next day my tranny stops workin! o well!

 

nice...want to sell me 4 centercaps off the vx or hx's? lol

 

any far away pics with the HX's on it? so i can see what they look like on the car and not just the rims

 

ill have to snap some ... it took me forever to find all the caps for my rims, good luck with yours!
