parked 2000 accord bouncing idle when not in gear
i had my 2000 accord EX sedan in the garage for a few months while i was in college since i slammed into a curbed and $%#^ed up the alignment , now starting it back up, it starts up just fine, but then it started having the "bouncing idle" that goes from 1250 to a little over 2000 rpm its not a fluctuating idle it bounces like its hitting the rec limiter
also there was some smoke coming out oif the exhaust
anyone got any ideas
the fuel in the tank is pretty old, about 4months

check to see if all pistons are working, you could have a faulty plug.

im not sure how to tell if all the pistons are working...and the plugs were fine when i parked the car
but what the hell i suppose i can check them anyways
anyone else think if could be one injector running nasty, or if theres a DIY for cleaning injectors

take the idle air control valve off, take it apart, it will have a plunger looking thing in it, it has a big round screw around it, hold the plunger down, and turn the screw clockwise until the plunger is all the way back down, then put it back together and put it back on... take the negative cable off the battery for 5 minutes, put it back on and start the car and that should solve the problem...
