ok dont turn this into a buy the real thing...im not going to.
i have the chance to pick up a second gen (thicker metal) an-r compact header for around the price of the hytech replicas.
but i havent been able to find any an-r dynos on here.
so im curious...which do you think i should run and why? (12:1 itb'd ls/vtec).
any pros cons to one vs. the other?
this will be replacing a jdm ITR piece....

I dnt know any thing about them but Im with you I have a Whitfield racing Try-y header its a hytech copy and it woorks great and makes gd power I had a edelbrock race header and that was a great header and this make more pwer and tq over it. like gd pwr and tq just as much as hytech if not better
and I m with you I rather buy the copy as long as its a gd one. Im about function(facts, pwr) over form(name, looks). So Im with you all the way

AN-R BLOWS!! Compaired at the dyno angainst 8 other headers performed the worst. The replica did pertty good.
Oh yah the An-r melts t-belt covers and like to crack. Also I remember the JG-edelbrock did quite wellfor an off the shelf.

the one done by vteckidd shows the anr in the middle of the pack and the hytech production make less hp (albeit 1hp)
this is the test i havent been able to find for days

We did it at hook-ups and the write up was done by sheepey. We were testing
the highend autosports header and we through about 8 other headers in the mix, AN-R being one of them, this was on a 12:1, ITB, 2.0L b-series, there should be a video of this too in the archeives

thanks, good info, i just wish there were more tests and comparos of the anr versus something.
going by the fact that it held its own in a test with smsp and other high ends, and it was originally designed by rmf (i believe, may be wrong) it must be able to make power. ill see how low i can get it for and maybe do a test of my own.
still undecided and open to other info tho.

Looooong overdue.
my friend has been holding off buying a new header until he sees some results from your header.
He's currently using a sparks racing header, and I know its holding a lot back out of his new setup.

A search from google brought this up. So maybe they do still make them?

Just wanted to let you know that the hytech replica headers are actually really nice. I had no fitment issues when installing mine. I ran the flanges on a belt sander to make sure it was completely flat before installing it on the head but all the holes line up for the studs and it clears the oil pan with no problem without being too awful low. My car tends to scrape on one of the resonators after the header instead of the header itself, which I am rather thankful for. As for power, the hytech replica is capable of well over 200whp. I just had my gsr tuned to 203whp with room to go for more power on the intake side. The header looks really nice with the coating as well. I would definitely recommend it if you are on a budget as I am. I can't compare it to the authentic hytech headers as I have never had one, but I can say that it makes much more power (and sounds better) than my old JDM 4-1.

wlel i picked up the anr...it cost me less than a hytech replica even with having to redo the flange to mate up to my exhaust and new heat coating. so im gonna see how it does on the dyno, and if money/time allows ill pick a try y to test too.
