Default Highend Header Videos (you decide)

Just like the title says, we had a header test against the best, the expensive, and against a competitor you decide.

this is the first video
http://homepage.mac.com/raffit78/rims/done2.mov
This is the second video
http://homepage.mac.com/raffit78/rims/day2done.mov

TELL ME WHAT YOU GUYS THINK!!!!!!!!!

p.s. i do apologize for the long download time, it is on quicktime 7 which can be downloaded from the apple website, but well worth it.

i'd like to see the acceleration from the bottom of the gear to the top plotted for each header with = throttle positions at various loads.

thank you guys for all the feedback!!!! yes!!!! JOhn and I worked pretty hard at it, even though john is not a 100% happy. He feels we could of done more to make the movies better. We will talk to Chris to post up complete graphs, i figured people would ask about that. It is just our fault not including that in the vid.

I love the feedback guys if you keep it coming, Myself and the guys who worked on this project woulld love it.

ANd please give Chris at hookups mad props as he and everyone else working on the header tests are doing this for free. Thats right, Chris has no vested interest in any of these headers.

If anyone is interested in this HIgh End Header please feel free to contact Mike at (626)332-8565

P.S. The only reason why i am doing this if you all ask, is because i have grown up with all of these guys in this project and if i can say i had something to do with it, to help Mike and chris so be it.

Before I say what I have to say I would first like to disclose to everyone who is reading my response that I am infact DTR's brother. I am not calling into question the validity of this test. Infact it was good becuase it gives the consumer more information to make a choice that suits them best.

I do believe that this test was done with as much accuracy as possible but I would like to shed some light on the video itself to make this thread a little more balanced.

My first point is to point out the fact the the DTR header was originally designed for my own personal engine. A much larger much more agressive engine. This header was a custom piece that can also be ordered from my brother. So this header was NOT the optimal pipe size and length. I do not know the pipe sizes, lengths and merge angles of the highend header, but dont believe that it is much closer. This header did well even though it was designed for a much different engine

My second critique that a headers retail value from the manufacturer (dtr) is somewhere to be around 1100 shipped it is a custom handbuilt piece to suit your motors specific needs. Again you are paying for some thing that was built to your specs.

Third , from what i gathered from looking at the dyno plot, the DTR unit has gains from 7000rpm of about 2 to as much as 7 hp at 9200rpm

People who have alot of experience in the naturally aspirated field know that 2-7 hp in a crucial part of the power band such as 7k to 9.2 k rpm know that it is a huge difference.

Finally, i know that 7 peak horse may not SOUND like much , i have from experience feel that after 200 hp EVERY SINGLE HORSEPOWER cost about 100 bucks....

If anyone has any constructive comments feel free....if you would like to pm to discuss this more feel free also...have a nice day and if anyone is purchasing a header regardless of who you are purchasing it from , i hope that in your own mind you feel that you make the right decision.

thank you for your time

AWESOME thanks for the feedback guys, let me know if you guys would change anything,
(we have noticed that we should display the monitor for a longer time to get graph measures)

Thank you, Thank you guys for the feedback.

I only saw the first video... The highend looks very sismlar to my Smsp... It should perform well...
Flame suit on.....
I also noticed how much larger in primary size the DTR header is compared to the Highend piece...
Try getting a DTR thats proprerly sized for a more fair test for both parties.....
Either way , awesome video and test guys
Pm me a price on the Highend unit please.. I have a few buddies that might be interested.. Specs too please..(primary size, collector)
