Straight LS / s372 Race Tranny
Im looking to add gear sets to my tranny for next year. Right now im making around +500hp @ 20psi on my s372 straight ls set-up. I have made +600hp on my gt4088 and in the spring im going to re-tune for more power on the s372. I was thinking of using :
1st Gear: 3.070 MFactory
keep my ls 2nd gear
Gsr 3rd and 4th
I need to get rid of the ls tranny 3rd gear is too long, and i drop mph when i shift into 4th at top end.
Im looking to make +750hp in the spring with the new pr8 head and cams. What do you guys think?

just remember that changing to GSR 3-4 involves changing the 4 gears that incorporate 3-4, getting the GSR 3-4 sleeve set and also getting the GSR fork. Not too much but, keep it in mind.
Might just be easier to start with a GSR considering that 1-2 are exactly the same ratio in a GSR and LS Hydro trans
If you want to keep the 4.27 FD ratio...just swap it over from your LS and there you go

If you are going to make some high HP I would see what the lowest first gears are out there. On a front wheel drive with big hp you almost can't go low enough.

Ok well that changes things....What exact transmission do you have?? The fork I am speaking of is the 3-4 shift fork...not the clutch fork
If you have an A-1 or S-1 Cable USDM LS transmission...you cannot use GSR or Hydro parts for that matter.
If you have a YS-1 Cable USDM trans...you can use Hydro parts all day long!

its a ys-1 cable. rota has a gsr with ls final. So my quife will fit in there and i would have to change the disc on the twin plate to fit the gsr fork. also i would need a conversion kit from cable to hyro. Am i missing anything?

Ok...if its a YS-1 you can buy what rota has and install the shafts in your trans. you will not need to swap over to Hydro...You are able to use Hydro parts in your Cable trans when it is a YS-1
You will need a GSR 3-4 shifter fork(internal) not a Clutch fork...
