b20vtec..rs machine pistons..clearance
i plan on running a b20vtec and i read a post that said if i run the rs machine type r replica for a b20..i can use any size cam without having any problems with valve to pistons contact..due to the pistons modified valve relief..b16 head by the way..can anyone give me any information about this..or point me in the right direction so i can get an answer...thanks
People also said you can run type R cams on stock bottom end(b20 pistons) with B16a head with no clearance issues + stock rev limit. Which is not the case when i ran it, it still hits the piston... i was lucky not to break my motor..
At the end of the day, the MOTOR SHOULD BE CLAYED when using aftermarket piston and cams and check for P2V clearance. Its not expensive to do so..
