i have a d16a jdm motor and im trying out a pr3 ecu in my car n(instead of my p28) and my car runs a lot faster and vtec hits a lot harder for some odd reason. my question is i just bought a buddy club vtec controller because this ecu makes vtec hit at 6000 rpms and it should hit at 4800-5100 rpms and im wondering if its bad to tinker with that? thanks
i had a buddy club controller in my 92 civic hatch w/ gsr swap ... i set vtec between 3000-4500 when i would run, and never had any problems ... my homie ran it on his type r for about 6 months and nothin happen to it ... my bro in law has had it on his car for about the last 6 months on his d16z6, he said sometime when he runs it, at about 7000 rpm vtec cuts off completely, not sure since its in an obd2 car with obd2 ecu ... or hes just crazy, me i think hes crazy cuz everytime i run the car it feels perfectly fine! hes a noob!!

no i mean d16 not b16 i know its from a b16 but for some reason it seems faster with the pr3 ecu i think it has something to do with its fuel-air ratio or somethin like that. i have a d16a jdm motor (sohc vtec) similar to the d16z6 if that helps

The b16a ecu sends signals that do not suit your injector size, sensors, rev limiter,etc..The pr3 is for a DOHC engine only not for using it in a SOHC.Its true, you'll undergo problems in the day follows.Get your ecu back and chipped it if you want to achieve a little power.
