car dies when hitting brakes and idle surges up and down HELP!!!
WORKING ON A 1990 HONDA ACCORD, IT DIES WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKES AND THE IDLE SURGES. WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS??? IF ANYONE CAN HELP OR GIVE ME AN IDEA I'D APPRECIATE IT.
Ive had that problem before
once it was because my coolant level was low
then once again when my idle was set too high
start there check it out

there is something wrong with your brake booster when you hit the brakes the power that the booster takes is messing with the idle
The brake booster uses a large amount of the available intake manifold vacum.
I'd start by looking around for broken vacum lines, or vacum leaks.
Also check the IACV, idle should drop a couple hundred RPM if you unplug it with the engine idling.
