My wife and I drove to Chicago last night, from Virginia Beach. We hit some pretty low temps once we got out of Virginia. Well, I tried using the windshield sprayers, and you could hear the motors going but nothing spraying. So, I knew that the tips must of been frozen. Well, after awhile I gave it another shot...2 times trying, and the 3rd, nothing. No motor sounds, no spray, nothing.
First thing I thought, was that it possibly popped a fuse, but I couldn't find a fuse labeled for the spray system in the engine bay or inside the dash. Not sure what happened, did the motors eventually freeze up to? Obviously, the weather in Southern Virginia was in the 50's, so I didn't worry about anything freezing, but after 5 hours of driving, that all changed.
BTW, This is an 02 CR-V EX, has about 60k miles. Thanks for any help!

I have mine freeze up all the time. After one or two tries I quit trying. Quite possibly burned up the solenoid. The washer is fused in your under dash fuse box #20 20 amp fuse. That fuse also runs the wipers. If your wiper work then its probally good. If the fuse is good you can check the solenoid for operation. Its under the left fender. Remove the lower fenderwell cover and have someone operate the sprayers. Listen for the motors. While your down there check for voltage as well. Hope this helps.
Its possible that you have the wrong kind of washer solivent (sp). You have to use the concentrate liquid in colder lcimates so it wont freeze. The pellet kind doesnt work because it requires to much water which freezes at 32 F.
My car has been doing it this year but its a CRX with 200k and a hole in the resevoir.
