i accidently left the lights on for about an hour and a half while i was a work last week.. and now my battery keeps gettin drained.. i believe its the alternator draining my battery.. would this be true and can someone please help me confirm this before i go out and actually buy one and put it in?

 

Take you're car to autozone and they will check your alternator and battery for you free of charge.
