Default how do you wire up a amp?

i recently got asked to wire up a amp and some speakers as a side job. i have wired up regular (oem replacement) speakers and stereos before, but never a amp. i have a idea, but i'm not to sure. figured HT might have some advice and/or link that might help me out.

Run Power wire from battery to amp

run new speaker wires from amp to speakers

run Line out leads from stereo to amp

....

power wire must be of right gauge for the amp's load, and distance from battery, and fused properly 8-12 inches from the battery, and then fused again before connecting to the amp.

amp's ground should be the same size as the power wire, and grounded to the chassis.

if the system is using the stock head unit, a LOC is needed for amps that aren't made to take speaker lv inputs.

have fun taking apart the car.
