im installing a quaife LSD into my gsr tranny, and i was wondering if the ITR countershaft was needed? i remember reading somewhere that they used the ITR countershaft, but not sure if it was required.
i also read that some bearings need to be switched out, is it talking about the tapered bearings on the diff. into the ball bearings?
is there any other parts i have to change out?
thank you.

you'll need to use the standard ball bearings instead of the GSR style thrust bearings (they came in all other b-series transmissions, and EX/Si d-series transmissions.)
I hope you don't have the JDM LSD GSR trans, because the ring gear has a different bolt pattern 14 bolt, and you'll need to aquire a 10 bolt 4.4 ring gear.
I haven't heard of having to swap the shafts. The PITA part is getting the speedo gear off. It's in between the diff and the bearing.

The PS1 differential bearings may be too thin to clearance properly. I would use the P80-E31 diff bearings.
You'll need to remove the VSS ring gear from the old diff and install it on the Quaife. To do that, you need to remove the bearing on that side. You can either heat it up with a good torch (something that burns hotter than propane) and a brass drift pin, or you can use the flat side of a bearing splitter and a 2-jaw puller to remove it.
