Default How to verify if authentic EK9 (96 spec) headlights and grill

Hello HT!

I really would like to know how to verify an original EK9 96 spec headlight and grille... I bought this to a guy who I trust sells original parts..

i will try to post the picture of the headlights and grille tomorrow.

Please post your original 96 spec type-r headlights and grille..front and back if you can..please do help me..

thanks and more power!

what I notice:
headlight has a diffuser
grille is one piece (for 2k spec I think grille can be parted in two frame+grille)

The headlights will have HONDA and Stanley on the lenses. The grille will have HONDA on the back.

All plastic Honda pieces will have HONDA on it. It will be small though.

OEM 96-98 CTR grille

You said the headlights say HONDA and Stanley, so those are genuine. The grille, however, looks aftermarket.

OEM 96-98...

OEM 99-00 (which yours look the closest to)...

Yours...

The city light socket is a small socket at the rear of the headlight. But since the CTR headlights do not have the bulb cap, yours must be repainted.

You have a fake grille, and those headlights look to be DEPO headlights that have been repainted.

No, they will say DEPO on them. The headlights you have look exactly like ones I used to have, except painted.

Actually, from the looks of it, you have repainted Stanley EDM headlights.

actually I have been thinking that they are repainted..there is sealant all over the headlight..maybe because it has been opened..

Do ctr 96 spec headlights have hats/caps/diffuser?

Like I said before, it looks like they are indeed Stanley headlamps, just the EDM ones.
