I hear the Edelbrock intake makes it breathe better. I haven't personally tried one though. Search this site (red button at the top) for different manufacturers. Maybe check out D-series.org as well, while you're doing research.

i'll tell you right now, i have a built d-series, and i have used many after market ones non work that great, i ported out a stock one with a bigger tb and i love it, it made it breathe hella good man!

For anything close to stock i would keep the y8 manifold. If your going for big hp numbers then i would look at upgrading to something else.
