by options on transmissions are you asking which ones mate to it?

If so, just about any F and H series manual tranny will mount up to it.

But if it were me doing this, mounting a F or H into a CRX or Civic, I would do either a F2D or H2B adapter plate. That way you can mate a tranny with probably better gearing and not have to deal with running the shift cables and mounting the different shifter assembly. If you look in the Hybrid forum you will see more info on this. I believe Bisimoto is who makes the F2D plate but I don't know who makes the H2B plate. Also, since you can mount either a F or H tranny, either of these plates will work, you just have to decide which tranny you would want.

sweet! thanks. i want a tranny that is highway friendly, which is best for that and what are the ratio's? now what about an ECU? i dont think a H22A ECU is compatable. i cant find a F20B ECU anywhere

F22b1/2 series tranny will yield lower highway RPM's

H22 is loud at highway haha

to be completely honest... the whole highway stuff doesn't concern me. I dont have an H22 but my Civic with a D16Y8 engine and tranny stays around 3k rpm or so and I still get great gas mileage. Went down to Ohio for a Honda meet and got 47.x mpg. Typical freeway driving I would normally get around 40 mpg but on trips I have seen high 40's more than once. I think the highest I got was 48.7 mpg or something like that. I'm sure the H22 would be different but I'm just saying I feel there are more factors than just rpm's.

before I was going to do a Civic with a F22B1 engine and a D16Y8 tranny, but my plans changed...

If I had to choose in a project such as this, I would go with a D or B tranny over the longer geared F trannies. Plus for the work it saves you, and the more aftermarket support of the B and D trannies over the H and F trannies. Just those whole cutting and mounting the shifter assembly and cables made me kinda iffy about it, thats why when I found the adapter plate I was definitely going to go that route.

I am a bit confused now because of these two statements. I have read other peoples threads that state they have bolted up an M2B4 H22 transmission to there F22 block without using an adapter plate. I have heard of the H2b and H2d but I have never heard of an H2F adapter.

Stick to the facts here guys what's up?

Just stop now and leave the thread.

The F20B can use either an H or F series transmission, they're all compatible - except that of the S2k.

You can also bolt up a D series transmission using Bisimoto's or other manf. adapter plate to any H or F engine.

If the H2D works with H22...it'll work with F's. No reason why it shouldnt. Same goes for H2B...if it works with the H22...no reason it shouldn't work with an F series engine.

I don't think he was even referring to the use of adapter plates. I think he was only talking about H and F series not working with each other. Which obviously isn't the case.

no need to be confused... theaccordone23 is wrong, I just wanted to hear why he felt it would not work. You can mount a F or H series tranny to a F or H series block, excluding the S2000 F20C or whatever it is.

And with the adapter plates, you are now able to mount a B or D series tranny to an F or H series block (commonly used in Civic/CRX/Del Sol/Integra not Accord/Prelude).

theaccordone23,
Please do some research on things before you start spreading misinformation as fact.

never heard of anyone doing what? Putting a H series tranny on a F series block and vice-versa? Or putting a B or D series tranny on a F or H series block?

Swapping the H and F trannies has been done many times for a long time, nothing new there.

The B and D series adapter plates have been around for probably 1 1/2-2 years now. The hybrid forum is where you'll find a lot of the adapter plate users if you'd like to learn more about that.

Like I said, just do some research. There is a Guide to Basic Accords sticky up top as well as an Accord FAQ. Take a look at those as well as use the Search feature located at the upper right corner of the forum to find additional info. H-T is a big site with lots of info, be sure to not only search recent content but also the archived content.
