Boosted is the best way to get power out of any Single-cam motor, granted most civics 92-00 in the US are singlecam, with the exception of the 99-00 SI.

All motor/NA:

Pros: Very reliable
Decent power made

Cons: Very expensive
Lots of expertise required

TURBO:

Pros: Lots of HP/TQ at the ready for less than NA.

Cons: If not done properly, can be pretty unreliable.

A part time job being in high school isnt going to get you very far in buying car parts unless its a really good paying job. I just graduated last year so I know. I hope you have a garage for if you want to get a '99-00 Si. Those are highly sought after.

Just do some searching. N/A and boost are two completely different things and youd get biased opinions everywhere. Im sure a lot of people will tell you boost because its cheaper for the money while B Serious is gonna come stomping in here shoving N/A down your throat. Its all personal preference so you have to look into it yourself and see what you like.

alright. i dont think ill touch it for a while untill i learn alot more about it. ive got the basics down and yes i do have a garage for my car. im just gonna do some basics to it before i mess with boosts and rebuilding my block and stuff.

i also have a spot in my garage for my car. i really want an em1, but i dont think ill be able to afford it. i might get like a 93 hatch or a gsr.

Try getting a '98-01 gsr. You can find some in pretty good condition for not too much. Definitely cheaper than an EM1 most likely. Faster too

You have some time to do some research of the pro's and cons's of both turbo and all motor. I just check out the FI and all motor forums and see the problems people are running to,the success people have and just to have general knowledge. The choice will be somewhat easier once you know your budget, your goals, and the trim level car you get. Good luck.

If you do end up getting any civic/acura with a B-series motor, make sure you get some kind of alarm/kill-switch/anti theft device installed, because they are hot jailbait *** for theives all over.

I would say get the car first, drive it for a while look into some diff. racing and show events and then take a look at your car and decide what you want to do with the car and go from there. It is best to know what you want before you spend the money and time. That way you don't waste time and money because you have had a change of heart.

just my two cents.
