One more post and I'm gone
Okay- Just in case you haven't noticed.......
Everything is up for grabs mostly.
We are going to try for an all hands-meeting somewhere between 7:45 and 8:00.
Gates open 7am and since there is a lot of people expected, get on line early to get in. DO NOT wait and think that if you get there at 7:15 it is going to be a breeze. NO ONE is sure what is going to greet you......
Everyone who registered up till about 4pm on the 25th and anyone who called me today will have their names on the list at gate #2.
Please go directly to the Jefferson so we can figure out who is hthere and all that good stuff.
Good luck --- see you at the track.
I/m gone early tomorrow mornign, so everything else will have to pretty much wait until at the track.

It'll be the gate you go to after waiting in line at the wrong gate for 30 minutes.

George, I am assuming it is the first gate you pass on the right, before you reach the main gate. They are only 50 yards apart or so. I think the 2nd gate takes you straight to JC.
I am posting under Chris' name.....he has already arrived at the track.
He has spoken with the track and here is the situation regarding parking. If you are a racer, car show participant, or vendor, you will be allowed entry into the main paddock for parking. If you are one of the five crew for racers or are on the VIP list, you may be able to drive into and park in the main paddock area if you get there early enough. (This probably means early Friday evening). Once the open parking spaces are full in the main paddock, crew and VIP people will park in the carousel and main areas and ride the shuttles that will be available. I know at SCCA races, the Summit Point person who checks pit passes has usually not let cars in the paddock without a pass even if they say they are just dropping off equipment, so be prepared for a "no". Please remember that this is a joint event in which the gates, security, etc. are controlled by Summit, and this is the first time for this sort of event. Remember, the earlier you arrive, the better!
Looking forward to seeing everyone, and this may be my last post before I go. Let's have some fun! I know I am feeling pretty "hyper"!

P.S. Since 99% of the spectators and 75% of the car show entrants probably won't arrive until Saturday morning, it may not be too difficult to get into the main paddock area on Friday evening. If the paddock guard won't let your car in, and you can't find your racer, come find me in my silver Honda CRV and we will go get your tools and stuff. I am pretty sure they will let me drive my vehicle anywhere....but you never know!

I'm still not clear which is gate 2. If I am coming from Charles Town, I make a left into the first gate I get to. That gate is the one at the carousel. Is that gate 2?
Also, I haven't received any confirmation e-mail or passes to get in like we had for last weekend. Is that going to be a problem when I get there on Friday night?
Has the h-c racer's paddock area been decided yet?

Update: Crew should not have a problem getting their stuff to the racer's area in the paddock as long as they are there Friday night or EARLY Saturday morning. (This means prior to 7:30). Worst case scenario is that you will have to park your car in the grassy area just outside the main paddock area. When you talk to the guard at the main paddock, let him know you are crew for whomever, and as long as you are on the driver's list and you arrive Friday night or EARLY Saturday morning, he should let you through to at least drop off the stuff and come back out and park your car on the grass.
And no, there is not enough room in the paddock for the racer, and five crew cars to park in the paddock. There will be vendors, show cars, workers, and racers parked throughout the paddock.
If you are a worker, and your name is on the worker list, you will be able to park your car in the worker section in the main paddock.
Hope this helps.

I hope Gerald got them all the JMU workers names. Don't feel like waiting around all morning explaining myself to the guard when we're having the workers meeting, or worse having to pay to get in like a few of us did last weekend.
