heres a little video of me (Red R6) riding GMR only to find that one of my friends went off the cliff and the rescue team on the scene.
my friend low sided then him and the bike went off the cliff. he was ok. he had to climb back up the mountain because no one knew he went off. another biker found him laying on the groun when he made it up and called 911.
always be careful while riding guys. you never know what can happen.
i dont know how to embed the vid so heres the link

don't you guys roll like 30 deep? OCMoto right? you guys should really have someone run a few secs behind after the last guy as a sweeper, this way if something does go down the sweeper can relay it to everyone else and proper action can be taken if something goes down.
glad your buddy was ok.

half the group went down first. then the other half , which was us, went 30 minutes after thats how we got there when the helicopter was landing.
as for the camera im not sure what it is. its my friends camera on his bike. he mounted an external wide lens on the windscreen. the camera was on a tank bag.

It's and extremely old road, not used for through traffic anymore and the worst is the crumbling granite rock that its made on. if was solid granite it may be better but its a tiny road, very low speeds. I prefer a much higher average speed than GMR can provide.

What can I say... I like it faster.
I used to take my car up there(39, GMR, ACH) and absolutely rock all over MC's. OCCASIONALLY I would get take out... but maybe once a year if that. Believe me your not going as fast as you think you are (OP's VID).
I remember one time on my four wheeled adventures, I was up at ACH and checking out 9 mile, going from top to bottom, making sure it was clean and clear. When I got to the bottom, I passed a rev'ed out 3000gt that was going the other way, the cat was wearing driving gloves(lol). so as I hit the stop sign at the bottom to make my U turn there were about 5 scooters just starting to throw there legs over. I made my Uturn and came up on the 3000gt after about a minute... the cat was all over the road, over the line, on the shoulder... finally he waved me by and I was able to really get up to speed... the primary scooter didn't catch me until we rounded the last turn towards the top. He stopped at the shoulder and waited for his friends(I was just sitting at the stop sign) when I made my left to go up, I looked across at him and he was pointing me out to his buddies... then he gave me a thumbs up as a left the scene... we were flying that day

now now.
most of us have our moments doing triple digits down 9 mile or up forest...
but these days it's more fun to do 65-70 up forest and skip 9 mile altogether...well maybe it's not as fun--but it's certainly more fun than catching a ride on the meatwagon.
the front side of GMR is 100x better than the backside. the backside scares me.
azusa is mini ach, which is fun.
and canyon runs in cars is g g g gay!

how so? it's fun! you can take female passengers going up at a good pace and not have to worry about them falling off. the turn-outs off the road after night of driving are a + too.

yeah but the females always complain about nausea/motion sickness, and the turnouts are a good place to get robbed at gun point! plus there's just not a lot of runoff/room for error in a cage.

believe it or not, i've had more of my male friends have me pull over 'cause they couldn't handle the drive... PUSSIES!!!
i've been driving canyons since '99, i always head out with atleast 2-3 other cars. i've have never came across anyone with a gun, but that's not to say i haven't seen some weird/fucked up ****. people committing suicide, crazy accidents, cult type ceremonies, etc... the freaks come out at night!!! especially on ACH. that place has a weird vibe at 2-3am.
