Default fuse info

im looking for information regarding fuses

my 98 accord ex v6 keeps blowing the same fuse
i have no installed any stereo or messed with the electrical in any way... yet it is starting to constantly blow a few times/week

it is a 20amp fuse labelled 'stop lamp'
its the fuse that controls the horn/brake lites

consequently, when it blows... my car is stuck in park and without a shift-lock release button.. this is quite a pain in the a!

my question is... where should i start looking to solve this problem?

for the time being you might step it up on the amp like a 30 or 35...but defiantly some loose grounding or faulty wiring is going on

never put in a higher rated fuse unless your a tech and your looking for a short at the exact moment, as far as the blown fuse problem id check your brake lights for a blown bulb thats shorting to ground, this can happen and will cause a blown fuse which is a safety feature to keep from melting your electrical system, hence don't put in a higher rated fuse, unless your really cold and in dire need of marshmallows

brought the car to honda.

i was told the horn needs to be replaced (30 dollar horn) .. labour about 1.5 hours. so 250.00CDN

regardless if i used the horn or not, a short in the circuit will cause the fuse to repeatedly blow. the brake lamp/horn are the same fuse.

jes thought id pass on the info for the next guy.
