Default I/H/E Dyno

I have a 98 type r with the AEM CAI, the comptech 4-2-1 header and the thermal axel back exhaust....Does anyone have the same setup or close to it (same brands I meant). If so, have you dynoed your ca to find the whp. If not, did you feel a huge difference from stock or was it not as significant? Thanks!

honestly it all depends, you should be noticing a bit of improvement. The only way to accuratley tell is to dyno your car stock and then dyno it with those mods.

Mid 160's sounds about right. I'm running Comptech I/H/E along with a V-AFC, fuel rail, adj. fuel reg. and put down 173 to the wheels

I didnt dyno it but I am assuming that a VERY good guess for my stock whp is between 159-160. I am saying this because my car has no ac. If that is the case, I am only going to get 5 hp out of my i/h/e combo? I have heard cases of people claiming to have 7 whp just from the AEM CAI. I guess they were lying. I thought that I would gain at least 10 whp. Am I wrong to think that? Thanks!

10whp is a little high from the AEM, especially for an R, it's harder to extract power from our motor because the factory did so much in stock form to get good numbers that you really have to do serious modding and tuning to get even more. I figure the AEM CAI on an R will probably produce only 3-5whp.

Mine stock ran 162.x WHP and 119.x TQ.

I'm guessing that CAI + JDM 4-1 + cat should yield at least 10 HP w/ nice fat mid-range... so, I'd guess ~170-172 WHP with the I/H/C combo. Maybe with 2.5" exhaust, you'll see mid 170 WHP.

I should be hitting the dyno soon...

You should be around 165 to 173 my guess.

That's interesting. What was the car getting stock?.

Stock '98 with 3.5K miles the car made 163 at the wheels. With the intake box removed it made 167.x whp, almost 168 whp. With intake, header, exhaust I think you should easily see above 170 whp.
