Ecu Question
I have an 00 si with b16a2. headers.. exhaust. and intake. Had a question about chiped ecu. Basically what i want to ask is if when its chipped they have the revlimiter sit to 8500.. i always shift before or at 8000(when racing).. now i assume it wouldnt be good to shift above 8000 rpm would it never shifted above. and for a 2 step rev limit for those who own em1s what are is your set at? what will be a good setting for the 2 step. thanks-
Its a honda. Its not gonna hurt a thing to take it over redline. My boosted d 16 redlines at like 7,200 and I take it to at least 7500 all the time when i race. I have a chipped ecu from phearable and the check engine light comes on as a shift light at like 7500.

There's a huge difference between 7500 and 8500 RPMs bro.

If its someone reputable or knows a little bit about cars, they probably kept it realistic at around 8500.</TD></TR></TABLE>
would it be safe to shift at 8500 rpm without damaging anything on the motor?

He has an internally stock B though. Chances are when you try to shift at 8500 you are gonna hit the rev limter by accident, I would set the shift light a little lower, if you have one.
