Default (92 Civic dx) New brake pads are 1/2 inch shorter than old pads.

So i recently bought a 92 civic hatch dx and im no noob to changing brake pads so anyways im in class the other night and i decide ima change my brake pads and front rotors because i can hear the wear indicators squeeking. So i go up to orielly's and pick up a set of pads and rotors. So when i get back class and start doing my brakes i go to put on the new pads and they are about a half inch shorter on both sides of the pads(in total overall length) compared to what pads are on my car. So i go back up there with my old pads and the new ones and show them thinking they gave me the wrong pads, but they didnt I then ask to see pads for the different models and none of them match ie: ex,si, all sedan models even checking to see if they are integra gsr pads but those are the same pads as the si i cant seem to find what pads i have. Has anyone else had this issue before.
I even went to autozone to see if they had the same prob and theyre pads were the same way half inch shorter on both sides.

He said the following don't fit for his front brakes on his '92 DX hatch:
- EX
- Si
- all Civic sedans
- GSR (same as Si)

And actually, they gave him the pads he asked for. He just doesn't know what pads he needs. The auto parts store was right in what they gave him though.

So i finally found out which pads i had i guess the guy that owned the car before me swapped out the front for 97 civic brakes since theyre bigger than the 92-95 brake set up.
