Throwout, and pilot bearing help
Im starting putting my vitara setup together, and i just got my act 6 puck clutch in and it came with the new bearings (throwout, pilot). I've had my tranny of before when i swapped motors, but didnt pay to much attention. Questions are pretty much how to replace these. Does the throwout just slide off or what, and wheres the pilot at and how does it come off. Any help is greatly appreciated (have already tried the search button

you will have to take the flywheel off to get the one which just slides in and out of the flywheel and the other is in your bell housing on your trans... if you pull it forward there will be either little springs you will see that hold it in place or it will just slip into place... when you look at it its actually pretty simple and not hard at all to figure out...
you might need a puller to pull out that pilot bearing.you can loan a tool one from autozone. i never replaced one on a honda before but, i did one on a mustang and the pilot bearing was located in hole of the crankshaft and this is what the shaft of your transmission rides on.kinda of a blankety blank to get out.as for the throwout bearing thats cake just slides off, might have springs or clip that holds it on but other than that its pretty straight forward. And if you never replaced a clutch before don't forget to use that alignment tool.
on a honda/acura it sits inside of your flywheel and not the crankshaft... it its stuck, then since your replacing it just use a socket and extension and hit it out lightly... then just tap the new one inplace with like a rubber mallet and a rag over it... its not hard to do at all and dont need any tools for it on a honda/acura
