Default Flywheel/Pilot Bearing problem....help!!

OK here is the problem...I am installing a new Fidanza flywheel on a B16A...when I went to tap in the pilot bearing it basically slid right in with no pressure....so when I installed the flywheel the pilot bearing will slide back and forth in the slot about an 1/8 inch....should I be worried about this???...anyone else have the same problem??....I am using the pilot bearing that came with the ACT clutch

Thanks for any info!!!

When I did mine the pilot bearing was a tight fit. It shouldn't be loose like that. I also had to tap it in with a hammer.

um it SHOULDNT matter too much as long as the bearing is not falling out.
as long as you can get the clutch alinged correctly you shouldnt have a problem once the tranny is on.

you should NOT have a loose Pilot bearing!! The needles in it could become loose and lodged around the shaft causing much headache and grinding. you should HAVE TO tap in the bearing with an appropriate sized socket and mallet. if the bearing goes in and there is play... you definitely have the wrong bearing. Double check before you reassemble that tranny.

BigDaddyRich...I tryed fitting the old pilot bearing from the original flywheel into the new one and it does the same thing...so it looks like the flywheel is off spec a little...so I am calling them today to see what can be done...thanks for the reply!
