Default Gsr turbo help...

Im quite old to the NA world and quite new to the FI world... I really need some help deciding which turbo set up to run on a stock GSR... Im looking for roughly 300 hp and would like to piece my own kit together. The hardest part so far is deciding exactly what to get. As far as the manifold Id like to go either Full Race or Lovefab... Bottom mount turbo... And what exactly ALL will I need besides - Intercooler, piping, turbo, manifold, wastegate, injectors, bov, boos t gauge, and turbo timer.

Tony Palo will be tuning this to run reliably on pump gas, so Im not shooting for the best setup for my application...

Thanks in advance!

Go with an Inline PRO T3 manifold...a nice 30r turbo and the injectors and intercooler to support your goals.

How much would the Pro T3 manifold go for? Also I was told to go with a Precision C61... Would that turbo work with that manifold? And would a 44 mm wastegate work with that exhaust manifold aswell?

hey xenocron, i'll be in your shop sometime in the summer for my gsr-t .... OP if you're piecing together a kit... (what i did it makes it easier when you visualize the set up one system at a time.

i.e. the turbo needs a feed and drain. 1.oil filter sandwich, 2.lines and fittings to turbo, and 3.drain lines from turbo to oil pan. that way when you're ordering shyte you are more likely to get it all in one shot.

some of the things i see you missed were downpipe for your hotside and dumptube for your wastegate, boost controller, an EMS program and an oil catch can system to replace your PCV system. i always stress that i'm no expert but i'm sure these are basic things you need.

Pretty much all t3/t4 turbos will fit on all manifolds now a days. By either one and work around, just watch out because some manifolds have issues with turbos hitting the block.

In my opinion...and SC61 is too laggy, I like my Turbo's a little smaller. You would use a 38mm (Tial) or Synapse (40mm) wastegate on the Inline PRO T3 manifold.

You can find them for $400-$500, slightly used, in new condition.
