Default auto -x issues trying to fix for next session

hey guys,
i am new to this site and all. but i have been racing auto cross for about half a year new and i am pretty good here in arkansas we only get to race once a mouth i know that sucks. but hey i am just having fun. well to get down to it i have a 01 honda civic lx 4door which is really good and i am trying to find ways to imporve the handling on the car here is what i have done so far.
megan coilovers
21 mm rear sway
cold-air intake
cat-back exhaust
front strut tower bar
17 inch rims

for next season i am geting the follow ready
front engine mount inserts
rota slipstreams 15'
falken azines tires

but i know that the best thing is seat time which i am doing every chance i get but i am having trouble with wheel hop and understeer issues. i think that the rear sway well help and the engine mount inserts as well but am i missing any thing. any information would help great thanks

Welcome to the addiction.

You need to let us know what class you are currently running in, and whether you plan to stay in that class. The rules are very specific about what mods are allowed for each class.

ditch the megan coilovers get some real suspension,

http://www.picperformance.com

http://www.koni.com

get something that is engineered for the car not something that is mass produced for the ebay market

get a HUGE rear sway bar

No, Chad is correct. On that chassis you do need a huge rear swaybar to get any kind of rotation at all. Even a 25mm rear bar won't make a dangerous car; It'll just put it closer to neutral.

And yeah, driving well is the main thing that cuts down on time.

Personally, I'd keep the 17'' wheels and run the 225/45/17 Bridgestone RE-01R's...If I had to guess you're running STS, and honestly there's not anything you can do to compete with the EF Si hatches...However, running as much tire as the class allows in the new Street Touring Spec tire (the RE-01R) is about the best mod you can do to close the gap down to the Spec Si's (as I like to call them)...But like has been stated, Seat time, seat time, seat time....

You're on the right track with those mods. What is your alignment set-up as? Do you have as much front camber as possible?

I'm currently running a 22mm rear bar and I still have issues getting good consistent rotation.

Other places to throw your money at:
Racing seat
Harness
Evolution school.

That's a 25" tall tire and it'll kill any acceleration that the LX has.

With that car, I'd personally go to a 16" tire and run a 215/45/16 Azenis.

I would highly suggest that you get a good set of tires. i.e. something like the bridgestone reo1r or at the least the azenis. For suspension, the order of importance should be sways, struts/springs, then alignment. I would suggest a faily big bar on the rear since your car is pretty heavy, so 22+ seems to be a good option. Also, do you have a front bar? That might be a good added option, just make sure that its not bigger than the rear, then youll start to have more understeer issues. Koni Yellows/GCs are a great autox spring/strut setup. From all the people i know doing autoxing and track days, these seem to be the clear preferred setup. Alignment should be done after your lower the car anyways, but adjusting the camber and toe should def. help a little.
