Auto x tips??
Hi im pretty much a noob to auto x'ing. Mostly into drag racing. I am really starting to get into auto x though. Just wanted to get some tips on some good auto x mods for a daily drivin integra.
What mods do you already have? Sorry, didn't notice what integ you had either.
If you are a casual auto-xer, mods are fine. But if you start to get hooked and want to get competitive, you really need to watch what you do.
Talk to people at meets or look online, not sure where right now. But there are guides as to what mods will put you in what class.
STS class was made as a result of the sport compact scene and allows aftermarket shocks, springs, intake, exhaust and some other minor mods. I believe sway bars are cool too.
If you do a swap it could put you into several other groups like SM depending on how far you go. Hope this helps.
Really, the best mod you can do besides seat time is tires. Something with a stiff sidewall. Ask around. Larger rims can change class as well. Personally I like Falken Azenis since they are a good bang for the buck and one of the toughest sidewalls you will find for the smaller rim sizes.
PEACE

Yeah, five of a list of what you have already, what you plan, and how much time you plan to spend autocrossing and we can help out with mods and classing the car.
As noted, seat time is the best mod.
Next is basic maintenance. Get the car running well, bushings fresh, brakes with fresh fluid and pads, fresh plugs and filters, etc.
After that comes tires appropriate for the class. Street Touring uses street tires, so Azenis is the best bang for buck. Stock, Street Prepared, and Street Modified/SM2 use DOT R tires like the Kumho V700, Toyo RA-1 and Hoosier RS303, AS303, or Autocrosser.
