Default oil cooling options for ls/vtec

What sort of oil cooling methods are you guys using. I assume many are running an LS block with no oil squirters and possibly seeing some high RPMs. I've been thinking of using an air cooled oil cooler but how would one go about doing this. Is it even safe to use an oil cooler sandwich plate in conjunction with the GE sandwich plate?
Or is the GSR/ITR oil cooler sufficient?

Thanks
