WHAT CLUTCH ARE YOU RUNNING????
I'm wanting to get a clutch before i do my ls swap because im going turbo. I was wondering what the best clutch is for the money. Theres lots of brands out there and i was wondering what everyone was running and how they like it. If you have an aftermarket clutch in your car post and let me know the brand, how much you paid for it, and how you like it for daily driving and racing. Thanks
i run a stage 3 2300 series clutch from competition clutch. i love it. the thing is grippy as hell but its nice. thr friction point isnt too small but its nowhere near an oem clutch. been running it for over 3 years and never had a problem with it and it still grips like new. its been through countless track days and tons of street driving. i think i payed 450 or 400 for it.
I run an act 6 puck unsprung disc with a hdpp. I'm running an 11.5:1 lsvtec, but when I get money I might be looking to switch out to a CC stage 4 or something with a lighter flywheeel. I paid around 350 for mine from a local dealer, but I don't mind it for daily driving.

Competition Clutch stage 4, 6 pad sprung. I don't daily drive it, but it does see alot of street time. It's not harsh on the street and it's been great at the track. Also, CC has great customer service.
What are planning for your car in terms of power level? There are a good many threads covering clutch choices depending on what you are planning on doing with the car.

Exedy stage 1
$220 from Ebay
200+whp all motor 205/50 BFG's holds up just fine. Drives nice, no chatter, easy on the leg. IMO 95% of the cars here are over clutched.

I personally run an ACTION 1MS? Not sure on the specific name, but it's a 6-puck sprung (was $330, now probably $350). Has held up great for two years of daily and spirited driving (13K per year) plus plenty of drag passes on streets and slicks. Supposedly holds 270 hp or so. Still holds great, but will be upgrading for my new turbo setup.
I'd suggest any street disc or 6-puck from Action, Clutchmasters, or Competition Clutch that will hold the torque that you plan on making. ACT is fine, albeit a bit pricey with overly heavy pressure plates, in my opinion.

The Exedy Stage 1 has been a bit inconsistent in slick use for us atleast. Absolutely great for street use, though. No doubt about it.
Not to mention, a lot of turbo guys have the ability to turn up boost and run much greater power than they do for the street, so they need a more potent clutch. So no... 95% of cars here are not overclutched. But a good bit are for sure.
