Default A couple more questions guys...

With automatic preludes, when checking the trans fluid level, should it be performed with the car running or shut off?

Also, when you buy a set of spark plugs, do they come with the right gap or do they need to be regapped ? Does the same also apply to OEM (dealer) ?

If they need to be regapped, can you guys tell me what the specs are? ...I no longer have the sticker on the engine bay (under the hood I am assuming).

Thankx

Your dealer can tell you the gap you need. I don't know exactly, but if the auto Ludes are like 99.9% all other automatics, you check the levels with the car in park and running at idle with no accessories running. I don't see why it would be different, but if could be.

Check the tranny fluid with the car shut off. When you purchase spark plugs, some come with proper gap, some dont.
gapping is as follows:
f22/h23/h22: .043 or 1.1mm

let me know which engine you got and ill post up the plugs honda uses

My prelude is a '92 Si 2.3l....would that be "h23"? I am sorry if it is a silly question, but this is my first honda I own and I am still learning more about these engines.

I purchased my spark plugs from a local parts store, to be honest I am not sure what brand they are. have to check...

If you guys can give me more info in the prelude engines would be great. How does my engine compare to others?

It's an automatic (unfortunately), which i bought for commuting purposes and now I am loving driving it, so what kind of basic stuff can i do to get a lil more punch out of it? does changing the ECU make any difference in these cars?
can ya tell I am a newbie?

Thankx

G,

my car already came w/ a Remus (dual tip). Is that ok for these cars?
It also came w/ an intake, which is huge (and light). I dont like the fact that it sits inside the engine bay, eventhough it has a heat shield (w/ K&N), wouldnt it still be sucking hot air? Should I add an extension and bring it by the wheel weld or something?

Remus is fine. Your intake should also be fine, that's great that it already has a heatshield. I'd keep those things and spend money on more useful things that have not been modded. Like get a DC Sports header. The stock h23a manifold is not very good.
