Default All Motor Setup - pricing?

Hey guys,

I have finalized my all motor setup. I would like to know realistically how much I am going to need for the follow setup, since I have been unable to get prices on all the parts. Let me know how much you guys think I'm going to need for parts alone / install / and dyno time. Thanks!

- Jun head package
- Toda Camgears
- Apex'i VAFC
- Mugen Headgasket
- Custom 2.5" Exhaust
- Comptech Aluminum Flywheel
- Clutchmaster's Stage 3 Clutch

(Also if there is anything else you think I might need, let me know) thanks!

My first concern is that you live in california...and with all motor you need higher octane...so beware how high you go and how far with that all motor setup...And very nice choice on the jun's!!..in a nutshell, its all in the tunning..have you every considered boost??

i dont how much power you are trying to make....but if you are shooting for 200whp ..there are some things i would change , erase the jun head package, the VAFC and the mugen head gasket, thats all trash...
stock head and cams, stock headgasket, Endyne Rollerwaves 81.5mm high compression pistons , SMS header , FPR , cam gears , Skunk program P28,GSR throttle body and exhaust, then just tune. I've seen results of 196whp 141ftlb with that setup minus SMS header, JDM 4-1 instead. Keep it simple.

Toda gen 2 gears are not made from oem pieces.....

Chris, you need to decide whether you want power or allmotor.....

Get a decent turbo kit and run low boost... It'll be lots of fun.

ALL MOTOR ALL DAY!!!!

nick

what?

His motor is prepped for allmotor how? because it's STOCK?!

Take it from one who has a mild allmotor buildup... the reliability myth is just that. And a very light b00st buildup will run circles around allmotor in terms of cost/ ease of use/ and simplicity. Don't discount snails - they win the race.

Chris, IM me with any more questions. You've been kicking tires on building the motor for some time.....

for 1, his car has short gearing. Lets say he boosts 8psi, i would love to see him hook with that...
2, the CR is a bit high to be boosting on, not that it wont work, but your only looking for problems in my eyes going turbo in a ITR.......but thats just my opinion... If he had a GSR, where the CR isn't that high, and the gearing is a bit longer, then i would agree with (Black R) in going Turbo....

Do you plan on reving to only 8500? Get a JUN ecu.
You will also need a FPR.

If you want to go all out on the JUN head package, get the Intake surge tank.

Don't forget a good set of ARP Head Studs... at about a buck and a quarter...

wtf do you need arp studs for? what's wrong with stock?

Somebody give me some reasons why allmotor is better on a b18c5 than b00st...

So far all I'm hearing is "it just is." Wow, how enlightening.

Chris, either way you're gonna end up spending let's say $5k. For that price you can get ctr pistons, lumpy cams (toda b, c, or jun3), p&p head, stronger timing belt, hondata stage 2, cam gears, valve springs, retainers... maybe a j&s, diy o2, and egt... This will give you 200-210whp...

OR

You could get a drag 3 kit on a groupbuy or on sale from importparts.com for say $2500... Add another $1k in little things you need to get rid of the piggyback stuff, and still get hondata stage 2b, 440cc injectors, j&s, diy o2, and egt... With 6-8lbs of boost (which is possible with hondata), you'll be making 240-280whp.

Now somebody making all these objections to turbo please tell me why. Why is it you say the compression is too high? Too high for what? Too high to make power? Look up.

If you want to use a $2500 budget. hmm lets see.....

ctr pistons - $300
P&P - $800(port flow)
Chipped out ECU - $300
Apexi Vtec Controller - $350
Clutch & flywheel - $600
Jdm 4-1 Header - $350

maybe a little bit more $2500, but ur looking at around $3500 considereing the block assembly

You don't need no big "LUMPY" cams to make power, if he keeps his stock cams with that setup I've seen 212WHP/140Tq, of course that is extensive tuning, but have the reliability, of stock parts. AND I PUT MONEY ON IT, that u will run the same time as the person running "LIGHT" boost.......

ITS NOT ABOUT MAKING POWER, its about being to utilize the power u have.

AND YOU'LL HAVE MORE RELIABILITY THAN A TURBO.....
