CAI- if it never rains any and SRI- if your area gets crazy down pours etc....

Any car will hydrolock.

chances of hydrolock with SRI: .000000001% out of 100% (unless you drive in the river itself, it's not going to happen.)
chances of hydrolock with CAI: Put one bullet in a relvolving gun, spin the chamber and then play russian rulet.

I hydrolocked my old hatch. In a very bad thunder storm on a newly paved highway. So, yeh it's possible.

I wouldn't say your chances are 1 in 6 of being hydrolocked. It depends on the quality of your filter. I had an AEM CAI on my Accord with AEM's best filter. I drove in the rain (without a wheel well liner) for two years without a problem. Cleaned/oiled filter when it was 1 year old.

I'd still go SRI

Get the CAI for maximum performance...and when you see that there are major floods, and tornados in your area, go out and switch back to your stock setup. Seriously doesnt take very long to do.

Max performance on a CAI is like 1 hp (debatable)

Have you looked at the CAI setup on the RSX? lol.

You can run CAI in the rain of you're smart about it, but there's always that chance you could hydrolock.

CAI has more of a chance of hydrolock. If you're worried about it, get a SRI.

you missed the question, i was asking if the Comptech Ice Box had the same likelihood to hydro-lock as the other kinds of CAIs. most other CAIs are just a filter on a stick. the comptech has an airbox like the stock one.

You missed my answer. I said the CAI has more of a chance of hydrolock (than the CIB).

Oh, I see. If you don't want any hydrolock risk stay stock or get a SRI.
