I have a turbo itr with a ls tranny obx lsd. My passenger side axles slides out. Has anyone ever had this problem? please help

recently replaced mine.

 

check the clip on the axle

 

I had the same problem with a kaaz diff, I replaced the axle with one with cleaner splines(mine looked a little beat around the clip grove) and a new c clip and it never came out again

^^^What he sez, you CANNOT reuse those C-clips... a new one <U>every</U> time.

 

Yeah thanks guys i really need the help..but theres a problem im boosting 18lbs and the damn thing is a beast when i get on it alot something always seems to go wrong. thats why the ls tranny is in there with that shitty obx lsd..i have aftermarket axles should i upgrade, or does it really make a difference that im so low the angle of the axle is giving me so many problems. i cant even really come out the whloe good cause something always happens...THANKS

 

make sure the c-clip is still good and also make sure the aftermarket axle's inner cv boot is install correctly and has enough "air" and length for the joint. if not..the axle's inner joint will want to come out of the tranny side.. make sense? ..

 

thanks guys for all the feed back. i pulled out the axle and the c-clip looks fine, but inside the diff there were quite a few shavings where the clip falls into place. so i got a magnetic screw driver and took them all out maybe thats all it was or so i hope. ill check back in and let everyone know how it goes... thanks again

 

While it is out go ahead and replace the C clip. Might as well:

I'm tellin' ya, never reuse them. Period. They may "look good, but they're one use only.

might be a bad lsd. there is a thread on the old batches from before...
