Default oil leak on the back of the block??

alright. for those that dont know, i recently put my motor together and started it up. i got a leak up front by the engine code and i have been trying to solve that issue. well today i noticed another leak, this one from the back. i cant really see where its coming from without taking the IM off. any clues to what can leak back there? its coming from the center, right above the oil filter i think.

I think there is an oil pressure sensor back there, maybe it's loose/leaking. They are pretty damn fragile and can break off inside the block if over tightened.

if it's coming from above the oil filter, it might be the oil pressor sender unit but if the leak is spread over an area horizontally, it might be the valve cover gasket.

thats my guess. gl

Your PCV return is to the upper right of the oil filter.
I have a leak back there that I just can't track down, after replacing the whole PCV return. I'm starting to think it's from even higher, maybe the vtec solenoid.

Just trying to think of what is over there.
DC2Hedi, If it's flowing down the tranny, clean it up and stop thread jacking. You already have your own thread

Not sure if it's the same on a tegra, but on my prelude I had an oil leak that took me forever to figure out. It was the gasket where the oil filter housing meets the block - was hard and split.

hmm. well i have an oil cooler, and i suppose if that o ring was bad, it could leak. but about the pcv return, i think that fitting is completely open and not closed at all... that could definitely be it.

Good luck with the leak. You don't want any of the PCV hoses disconected or dangling. Even a hole at the top of the return could splash out oil.

Could it be headgasket? I've got a leak where oil is pretty much all over my transmission, and I see a little buildup of oil at my headgasket on the front.

b&r block plug, but i guess that return fitting up above the water neck is open. would oil come out of there? or would that just be a vacuum spot? stock, the actual pcv goes to your intake manifold. then their is another hose on the black box that goes to this fitting. not really sure what it does.

Looking at the engine bay, front left corner, right? Oil leaking from above can pool up right there and kinda make it look like a HG leak.
