Default 96 Transmission TCC

The code is #0038 and this states "VEHICLE MAY EXPERIENCE SHUDDER OR JUDDER WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 20 AND 40 MPH, VIBRATION IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN THE TORQUE CONVERTER LOCK-UP CLUTCH IS IN THE PARTIAL LOCK-UP MODE"
Therefore,...The LocK Solenoid is the Focus of the problem ..
What Would Be a Better Decision .. to Change The Whole Trans(because of the potential damage the solenoid might have done to the trans at this point ?), or to Buy and Replace the LocK Solenoid?

I would atleast try a used one.
Have you tested yours with a meter? I can't remember the proceedure, but I found it somewhere on a forum. Have you applied 12V to each sde to see if they click?

I found the test proceedures at:
http://techauto.awardspace.com/transmission.html

Search through the transmission fix pages and it will expalin how the test the solenoids. It's a good idea to test the used ones also.
