Default Brake Question eek!

OK, on the rear brakes i removed the 2 bolts on the calipar, removed the pads checked stuff cause i thought something could have been between the pad and the rotor. so i turn the piston down slightly so i could get it on easier and then tightened the 2 bolts, then tapped the brakes to turn the calipar down to tighten it. but now my e-brake is like really loose, i gotta pull it almost all the way up.

1. how come it's alot more loose then it was, when i didn't change anything..
2. did i mess something up?
3. how do i correct it?

Well, it doesn't count if you haven't stepped on the pedal a few times. Pump the brakes a few times before you check on the parking brake.
