Does cam gear adjustment affect timing belt tension?
nope, just loosen the fasteners and rotate the cam with a 14mm

Look at it this way:
There are two main parts to an adjustable cam gear, right? The inner and outer. The timing belt is in contact with and rides on the outer part. The inner part is attached to the cam.
When you adjust the cam timing you are moving the cam and the outer part of the cam gear is stationary. With this being said, the timing belt tension will not be affected.

You have to loosen the tensioner before removing and installing the sprockets, then re-tension the belt.
