Default AWD rhd model civic? eg sedan

I never knew that the jdm model or maybe its the euro model had awd...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=nKW...lated

Has anyone seen this before? Would be interesting to see how it all hooks up. I'm assuming much like a crv. Just found it interesting that it was awd. I thought only the 88-90 or so wagovans were the only awd civics out there. Maybe someone could do a conversion if they had too much power that a fwd could handle. Just a thought.

Yeah, some sedans had AWD, but it's not performance oriented AWD like an STI or Evo, it's like 80 front 20 rear, more for a "soccer mom getting stuck in a little snow" kinda thing. It's a sucky AWD system.

You can retrofit it onto USDM sedans, need their trans, rear arms 'n ****, and a few other goodies - I think, anyways, I think, I saw a video of an AWD sedan, think it was in the States...

EDIT:

LoL

The video I was speaking of was the same link you posted . Shows my lack of observance. Guess it wasn't in the States.

Judging by the guy who posted the video in the first place, it looks like that car is in New Zealand.

There were AWD Civic sedans in Japan. All, or at least most, seem to also have rear wipers.

The trim levels include the RTi, RTSi (EH1) and the RTX (EH1). They have ZC engines and as was already said, they are not known for being fast sporty cars. There are theories that they have weak drivetrains, but I've never seen conclusive evidence.

There are also 4th gen (more than just the wagons) and 6th gen AWD Civics.

I would imagine this would be very difficult to fit all of the AD components into a USDM car.

There's a boosted AWD wagon in the F/I Forum if I recall, and about 2 years ago, Honda Tuning retrofitted CRV hardware into a Integra. It was difficult, to say the least.

Civic exterior panels on top of vette chassis, drivetrain, suspension, axles, steering wheel, pinion, transmission, diff, engine, seats, dash, so on and so forth***

If you believe that's still a civic you got another thing coming.

And all of the posts since my last post are about cars that are not RHD or JDM, as the OP stated he was interested in learning about.

It sounded like he wanted to learn about a stock Honda model(s), not if anyone could do it. Of course it can be done.
